Connect your usage
Share Claude and Codex usage with Confer so the team can plan work around available capacity.
Choose the workspace being monitored
For an always-on agent, use cloud workspace enrollment after your administrator provisions your workspace. Its clients and repositories stay available when your laptop is off.
The steps below connect an existing local workspace. They report this computer’s activity only.
What you share
Your quota percentages, reset times, connection status and, if you opt in, response token counts. Provider credentials stay with Claude and Codex. Prompts, code, file contents and paths are not uploaded.
Your administrator can see these usage reports and revoke this connection. This setup does not enable remote execution.
1. Sign in to the official clients
Use the company-managed account assigned to you. If you are already signed in, keep your existing login.
codex login claude
In Claude, use /login if needed.
2. Connect to Confer
Download the helper and run it with Python 3.10 or later. It asks for the invitation code your administrator gave you. Never paste a provider login token.
python3 employee-helper.py enroll --activity
Omit --activity to share only capacity. The invitation binds this device to your employee record; your administrator then approves it.
3. Enable Claude usage reporting
Ask your Claude client to configure its status line to run the downloaded helper with the statusline argument. Preserve an existing status line by adding the helper to its script.
python3 /absolute/path/employee-helper.py statusline
The helper reads Claude’s native status-line data. If your client or plan does not provide quota fields, the dashboard shows “unavailable.” Usage cannot stay fresh while the client is inactive.
4. Keep reporting while you work
python3 employee-helper.py watch
Leave this running on your work computer. It checks every five minutes. Closing it or putting the computer to sleep stops reports; the dashboard will show stale observations. Stop with Ctrl+C. Ask your administrator to revoke the device when you change computers or leave the team.
This pilot uses a running helper. An automatic startup installer and remote worker setup have not been activated.
